49 years ago today, the FBI served a search warrant on "Brother Moscato's Dump," aka the PJP Landfill in Jersey City

Will Jimmy Hoffa's remains be found before the 50th anniversary of his murder in July 2025?

In early November 1975—when pressed by the FBI to speculate on the actual location of Jimmy Hoffa's body—federal witness Ralph Picardo suggested that the burial site was "Brother Moscato's Dump," aka the PJP Landfill in Jersey City, where other victims of the Provenzano group had allegedly been laid to rest.

49 years ago today, on December 11, 1975, FBI special agents executed a court-authorized search warrant at the landfill, claiming that they were looking for the remains of a missing local loan shark named Armand Faugno.

In fact, they were looking for Hoffa.

But, without a specific location to excavate at the large site—filled with toxic waste, rats, and wild dogs—the expedition failed to yield Hoffa’s remains.

During the spring of 2007, I interviewed Phillip “Brother” Moscato—the co-owner of the landfill and a soldier in the Vito Genovese Mafia family—who revealed to me, “Picardo basically had it right,” adding that Hoffa was, indeed, buried at PJP.

In September 2019, Frank Cappola told me that his father—Paul Cappola, Moscato’s partner in the property—had buried Hoffa at Moscato’s direction.

On September 29, 2019, Frank gave me a tour of the site, which I filmed from beginning to end. During this visit, Frank took me into an alcove under the Pulaski Skyway, which he insisted was the location where his father had buried Hoffa.

At my request, Cappola executed a sworn declaration on October 7, 2019, detailing specifically what his father told him. Frank also offered to take a polygraph test.
