Today, President Joe Biden will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the late Robert F. Kennedy
RFK was the greatest crimefighter in American history
Today, President Joe Biden will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously to, among others, Senator Robert Kennedy (D-New York), the greatest crimefighter in American history. . . .
As chief counsel of the U.S. Senate Rackets Committee from 1957-1960, RFK ate mobsters for breakfast. Then, as U.S. Attorney General from 1961-1964, he started eating them for lunch and dinner, too.
To RFK, “the enemy within” was composed of the Mafia, corrupt businessmen, and labor racketeers.
God bless Senator Robert Kennedy.
Jim is exactly right. One of RFK's greatest traits was his capacity to grow and change. We lost more than what he was; we lost what he would have become.
For all of his human faults, RFK rose to be a moral and political force trying to save America from itself and its internal enemies. His loss is a history bending tragedy. And he'd weep if he saw who one of his children has chosen to become.
