Will freed insurrectionists now become members of a Trump private army?
Is Trump crazy enough "to go for it?"
Here are the Wikipedia profiles on these insurrectionists and their violent organizations in the aftermath of Donald Trump’s wholly irresponsible decision to give unconditional releases to an estimated 1,500 people accused and/or convicted for their roles in The Capitol Insurrection on January 6, 2021.
Elmer Stewart Rhodes of the Oath Keepers
Henry Enrique Tarrio of the Proud Boys
Question: Will these two violent insurrectionist organizations, along with their newly freed memberships, now become key operatives in a Donald Trump private army? . . . And, if so, is Trump determined to use them to deal with his political enemies and other unpleasant tasks?
Bottomline: Is Trump getting ready “to go for it?”
To be sure, he knows that such organizations and their loyal memberships will give him “plausible deniability.”
And, if his involvement is revealed, he also knows that the right-wing majority of the U.S. Supreme Court will likely provide him with full immunity.
Sensing the atmospherics of this dangerous and volatile situation, a trusted source close to the action told me:
I feel these actions [the Trump pardons] give a not-so-subtle nod to these communities, essentially rolling out the red carpet for them to act as a paramilitary arm of the new administration.
Let’s be honest—this isn’t exactly a new playbook. History has shown us how these things snowball from the events of January 6th to the calculated rise of militia-friendly operatives being strategically placed in the political machine.
Moves like this don’t just give militias the green light, they hand them a megaphone. It’s a cultural endorsement from the highest office, turning them into rockstars within their circles.
That kind of spotlight will embolden them, not just to step into paramilitary roles, but to expand their ranks, solidifying their foothold in a society that’s now offering them tacit approval.
And we all know where that road leads.
Trumps new Brownshirts, will do whatever retribution he deems necessary…my first thought on his possible pardons. Your thoughts are spot on Dan, his shiny new militia toys to play with!!
I'm afraid our societal problems go much deeper than Trump or the Proud Boys or Elmer and Enrique. Let's not forget that the national Fraternal Order of Police endorsed a convicted felon, who sent a weaponized mob to go beat cops, over a state attorney general. Let that sink in.
