Witnessing history: The opening day of John Dean's testimony before the U.S. Senate Watergate Committee 52 years ago today
Two college buddies attended the Watergate hearings on June 25, 1973
52 years ago today—on June 25, 1973, and fresh out of the University of Akron—my long-time friend, the very cool rocker, Bob Corlett, (sporting the beard and the shades), and I, (the stiff with the tie and folded arms), witnessed history from the back wall of the main hearing room of the Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill as former White House Counsel John Dean took the oath on his opening day of testimony during the Senate Watergate Hearings.
This precise moment marked the beginning of the end of the Nixon presidency.
You're like the real-life Forrest Gump, witness to some of the most pivotal events of our lifetime. How cool are you?!
Just a little bit of immortality for you, Dan! That pic will be in a lot of history books (unless Trump successfully rewrites the history books).
